Hello all you lovely Revolutionaries and all you other folk!
As we draw nearer to the first major event of the site, aka the barricades I have created this thread for you all to discuss how your characters are going to either survive or meet their maker. This is just a way to keep everyone in the loop as to what everyone else plans to happen to their characters and these ideas may of course still change and develop before the end of the barricades.
Feel free to discuss below and when you know the answer fill in the form here. You may change this information at any point.
Character Name: Survival Status: Other Information: (cause of death, injuries, etc)
We'll be ready for these schoolboys |

Character Name: Chauvelin Survival Status: Paul always survives revolutions -- he's had a lot of practice, after all Other Information: He'll be busy kidnapping the King during all the commotion. Most people will be distracted with trying to kill one another, except for a certain guy on a horse ...
Character Name: Sylvie St-Cyr Survival Status: Survives, temporarily Other Information: Sylvie's got one or two bits of mischief to get up to after the revolution, but then it's off with her head.
Character Name: Robespierre Survival Status: Survives Other Information: What's a Reign of Terror without Robespierre?

Character Name: Henri Roquefeuil-Blanquefort Survival Status: Survives. Other Information: Given he's already getting wounded at Essonnes, I'm not sure that he'll even be wounded (though he might be). The bigger thing will be that this will push him toward a more radical view of revolution that will make him ostensibly more dangerous as events progress. Victory at street-fighting must be a sign from God, right? He thinks he's more than ready to take part in the guerilla side of a civil war, and even when he's seen the casualty rates from all-out fighting... I'm not sure that the reality of the situation has really sunk in for him. He's idealistic, but some part of it is still a game to him... but the uprising and its aftermath will make it into a much, much more serious game for him.
Character Name: Christophe Feuilly Survival Status: Survives. Other Information: I haven't decided if he's getting physically wounded or not, but somehow I imagine that Feuilly will be less visibly psychologically marked by barricade fighting than some of the others? It will hurt him to have to take lives, but he's grown up with the knowledge of death and he knew this was going to get violent... That said, his woes are likely in the aftermath to come mostly from nightmares and the practical, day-to-day strains of being a confirmed revolutionary and yet also working-class. Though the death toll may damage his idealism as far as the cause goes temporarily, his first concern when all is said and done is likely to be practical--bury the dead, get the wounded to safe places, send letters to those who need news of the casualties, and get plans for what happens next in motion. And then go home to cry for the lost and worry about his (probably lost) job.
Character Name: Victor D'Anthes Survival Status: Survives Other Information: He's surviving, because there are plans for him later. I believe there are plans for a certain high-speed, low-tech chase. That's about as far as I have planned... He's ready to participate in a civil war if it comes to that, though only on the side of the monarchy. I'm not actually sure where he's going to be when the rebellion begins, either...
Character Name: Michel Montparnasse Survival Status: Survives... is not near the barricade during the fighting. Other Information: The boy is as much scavenger as predator, and he'll be around to pick through the corpses when all is said and done. But until then? He'll likely avoid the barricades as much as possible. No sense in getting shot at without even making a profit! He'd also quite gladly relieve any deserters coming through back alleys or catacombs of any valuables, with or without their lives.

Character Name: Henri D'Artois Survival Status: Surviving. Barely. Other Information: Thanks to Chauv playing one side against another oh so cleverly and the aforementioned low-tech, high speed chase, the man on the horse (i.e. Victor) and the Scarlet Pimpernel, Henri will survive. I think there's a plot in works for what's going to be happening even though all the details aren't ironed out yet, and I think it'll be -fun-.
Character Name: Marie Evangeline Roquefeuil Survival Status: Survives Other Information: Marie is far away from any street fighting and will survive the revolution (to Chauv's relief). She's also good at surviving revolutions. This isn't been the first. Other intentions are to guide her wayward son back on track, keep him from losing his head, and keep him from stealing / carrying out / "Borrowing" finances / horses / other assets from HER home. And get King Henri back on the throne.
Character Name: Jean Prouvaire Survival Status: Survives Other information: Jean's going to survive.. but I suspect he's going to be injured. I have this amusing notion of him waxing poetic while someone sits beside him sticking their fingers in his chest to stem an artery or something.. because that would happen to him. I think I'm going to have him possibly stabbed or shot. More than likely while being valiant or trying to save a friend.

Character Name: Blaise Combeferre Survival Status: Survives barely Other Information: I'm thinking some sort of head trauma leads to him being blind after he gets bayoneted in his side by one of the guardsmen. He's going to have serious PTSD after the whole ordeal, refusing to see anyone and having a lot of nightmares.
Character Name: Marius Pontmercy Survival Status: Survives Other Information: He's getting shot in the leg and knocked unconscious.

Javert's fate is going to depend on a lot of things... I'm still not even sure he'd go to the barricades, since a disguise isn't much good if there's somebody who can recognize you (Combeferre being the one he knows about, Gavroche the one he doesn't), and his face is both recognizable and due to his race would stick out a bit more than it might. And then if he does go, he'd probably be found out one way or another, and from there it depends on what a certain ex-convict is doing.
Basically I'd like him to survive, but between one thing and another it doesn't seem likely.
Character Name: Alain Lecorbeau Survival Status: Survives Other Information: Still debating the specifics. He'll be at the barricades, presumably being Chauv's eyes and ears with a sideline of looking for Mylie. It would make sense for him to get injured though, probably taking some unneeded risk.
Character Name: Félix Lesgle Survival Status: uncertain Other Information: I haven't thought about this much yet, and I'm torn as to whether he should have a weird turn of good luck and survive, or follow his usual pattern and get killed in some really stupid way, or get injured in a freak accident and survive. Will totally get back to you on this.

Seriously, guys?! Am I the ONLY one killing my charries off here?! That must be the most unbloody revolution known to mankind Also... Mylie will recognize you as well, Javert... and Feuilly, don't forget about Feuilly Character Name: Mylène LaCoquine Survival Status: Survives... with a lot of luck! Other Information: Mylie will fall off the roof and break both her legs, so she will be confined to bed for weeks and months to come, uncertain if she will ever be able to walk freely again (I am planning to, but let's have the girl sweat there for a mo ) Character Name: Frère Nicephore Survival Status: Dies Other Information: Poor idiot will throw himself between the barricade and the guards, trying one last martyr's speech for peace before one of the guards riddles him with bullets. Character Name: Bahorel Survival Status: Dies Other Information: Will die just as the battle seems won, when the SH comes for support. And isn't it ironic... Character Name: Tybalt Sans-Gauche Survival Status: Uncertain Other Information: Dunno yet what to do with him... he's probably going to look after Henri big time, making sure that the boy doesn't do anythng heroically stupid. Character Name: Lucien de la Tour d'Azyr Survival Status: Dies post-barricade Other Information: Lucien will run his mouth as he always does, and that will probably let him die alongside Sylvie

Character Name: Eponine Thenardier Survival Status: Survives. I have too many post-barricade evils planned for her. Other Information: Takes a bullet for Marius (because I refuse to rob her of that), but instead it goes through her hand and into her shoulder (instead of her chest), head trauma from taking a rifle butt to the temple, various scrapes and bruises from tumbling down the barricade to the street (possibly a broken bone or two)

Haha, Gwen, mine might die in the course of the revolution... but I don't think in the initial uprising. But so far it is going to be a shockingly bloodless revolution! Though to utilize the Sacred Heart more and account for how things like this usually go, I imagine there will be a period of civil war that would likely be much bloodier than the initial revolt and go well beyond street-fighting.
Feuilly is the only one I could kill there, and that I'm not so sure I want to do. But I suppose I could in order to raise the body count. As I feel bad for not killing off any of my characters! But there's also more appeal in exploring the after-effects of revolt on Feuilly than in simply killing him, and I've toyed with the idea of him dying before everything is really over from something more... mundane. Infection, cholera, something like that. Again, I'm not sure about that though...
Henri will likely either die in the course of post-barricade violence, get "burnt by the sun of the revolution," or end up a failure in his own plans and find himself trying to go back to a regular life on a nice estate. Of those, I really want the second one for him whether that leads to his eventual death or not. But of course that also depends on what Slayer wants with Helene, too! But yeah, I do plan for him to repeatedly get scalded by biting off more than he can chew.
Victor also may die in the subsequent violence, but he's needed for a bit longer anyway!
And Montparnasse is too damn slimy to die in politics.

Ah yes, I hadn't forgotten about Mylie & Feuilly, but did forget to mention them. Javert wouldn't necessarily think that she would go to the barricades, and as for Feuilly, he hasn't noticed him at the funeral yet. He may still, but if he doesn't then he'd have no reason to know the fanmaker's mixed up in the revolution. I might keep it that way because to stop an insurrection he might take the risk with just one potential snitch known rather than the three or four there actually are.

If Both Nicephore and Victor die, I think (my) Henri might try to do something bad to himself. Just saying. LOL.

Character Name: Aurélien Enjolras Survival Status: Survives (Probably) Other Information: I think I sort of have to have him survive- considering he's my only character and I don't really want to let go of him though I imagine it will take a lot of work to make him not go all martyr for Liberty, because let's face it that is very much an Enjolras thing to do. That said I know he's going to need to be either physically injured and knocked out- or captured and arrested in order to keep him from doing something self sacrificing for his glorious mother France. If he does survive all this- you can bet that he won't remain the same person. There will be a lot more cracks in that marble lover of liberty routine, and it will be easier to see the human and fallible Enjolras underneath. Killing people is certainly going to effect him more than he wants to let on. I'm honestly torn in both directions with him.

You could make him be nastily hurt and like in a coma for a while where no one knows if he's going to live? which would force people to consider live without him... but keep you from losing your only character and them the head of their revolution.
