Hello dear members of Do You Hear the People Sing! We want all of your characters to be singing along at our SITE EVENT. What is this event, you ask? It's going to be called “May Day” but instead of at the beginning of May, it will be the end. The day's festivities are open to all: a street fair complete with a mystic who can tell your fortune, a place to buy flowers for your sweetheart, jugglers and other performers, and a May Pole where you can sing or dance. A May Queen will be crowned, according to your votes, which you can cast here. Later, there will be an invitation-only masquerade for favorites of the king, and for the street rabble, there will be a torchlight parade at the end of the evening. Sign up to post in the masquerade here – check to make sure your character was invited – and/or the street parade here. Doing this is absolutely necessary to participate in the larger threads, but the rest of the events, you can participate at will. That doesn't mean your characters will be the only ones on the streets, however! There will be an NPC account played by the staff who will play the fortune-telling mystic, street performing gypsies. Check out the NPCs in the Event Information Board to see what the templates will look like, because the characters will all be posted in the same account, here. The NPC account is called La Mort. You can find out more and ask questions here. Why should you participate in the site event? 1.) Because it's going to be insanely fun. 2.) Because you get point rewards. 3.) Because in all likelihood, something really intense and important to the site plot is going to happen, and you don't want to miss out on that! DYHTPS needs YOU to participate in this event! France needs you! Enjolras needs you! And don't tell me you can say no to that face. Don't forget to follow the rules, and have FUN! STAFF NPC La Mort? What is that nonsense? Take a breath folks, your friendly staff here to dispel any confusion and get everyone on the same page! La Mort will be making its debut during the upcoming event. This is a Staff NPC that will be popping in here and there to stir up trouble. During the event, the NPC will appear in the noted locations (see board descriptions). The characters encompassed by the NPC will vary throughout the event. Each NPC will have a brief bio that will be posted in 'the book'. If you have a question or concern regarding an NPC during the event, please post in the event questions thread. One important note on the NPCs: They cannot be ignored. If they enter your thread, they are there. Period. If you have a question or concern regarding a particular thread, pm La Mort. The account will continue to participate in the site’s daily activity as we move closer and closer to revolution. More details regarding this will be released as need. So, let’s see what chaos we can stir up, shall we? SITE PROMOTION: There are many ways you can aid us in site promotion. You can earn site points by posting our advert on other sites; all you have to do is post HERE, with a link to the posted advert. Please be sure to read THIS thread as well. There are free member graphics for you to use on resource sites that allow you to place site buttons in your signature.
