The Rochechouart's of Barbizon
The Rochechouart’s are one of the oldest aristocratic families. The family has resided in the Rochechouart estate for over a century, generation after generation handing down the name and title in order the keep the inheritance in the family. The Rochechouart estate is located a mile away from the village Barbizon, although their high walls and gates keep out the horrors that befall the local villagers. The Rochechouarts are close relatives of the Marquis de Rochambeau, although they have cut all strings with the Rochambeaus, the moment the family was denounced by Gabrielle Damiens for being traitors to France.

The Comte Raphael Constantin Rochechouart of Barbizon

Family honour is highly valued by the Rochechouarts, or most importantly by The Comte. Keeping the family title, wealth and estate is the most important thing to him. They were one of the lucky ones, their families’ estate and money were given back to them when the King finally took the throne. One benefit of being close friends with the monarch. The Comte is determined to keep his family name in good stead and their aristocratic status in good tact.

The Comtesse is desperately trying to keep her family together. With the recent possible family scandals and talk of a new republic rising she certainly has her hands full.

Lord François is the oldest and first son; he is to inherit the entire estate. The Comte is determined to find his oldest son a good match in order for the family line and title to continue.

Lord Louis-Auguste has always been interested in the politics of France, something that was encouraged by his parents. They did not, however bargain on him entertaining republican ideas and running off to join the troops of the Sacred Heart. The family have disowned and disinherited him.

Oh this silly girl. She gave her heart away, and has now found herself with child. Only her mother knows of her discrepancy and together the two are hatching a plan in order for the Lady Elisabeth’s virtue to remain intact.

This young Lady has a wonderful talent for music, she enjoys entertaining at parties and events. She’s even been lucky enough to be invited to court to sing for the ladies and gentlemen there. Her family are so proud.

Lord Constantin is the youngest of the family. He struggles with the idea of losing his older brother to the Sacred Heart and has recently taken to visiting his brother there.
