[/div] At twelve years old, Vanessa is an intelligent, inquisitive child and quite precocious. She often understands more than she should of adult conversations and sometimes asks surprising questions that belie her young age. The young girl loves to learn and reads anything she can get her hands on in either French of English, since she speaks both languages fluently. She is very active and finds it difficult to sit still. Vanessa can be quite stubborn and petulant when she wishes to be … not to mention headstrong and impulsive. Most of the time, though, she is sweet and vivacious and obedient. Sadness and grief sometimes consume her, for she witnessed the death of both of her parents, who were killed for being traitors. She now lives in the camp of the Sacred Heart and is taken care of by Nathaniel Re Denei, whom she thinks of as her uncle. Vanessa is an independent young girl and she is at the age where she is beginning to form her own opinions, think for herself, and push limits. Nathaniel: Well we need to develop the bond between these two as soon as possible, she has of course known him all her life and well he will protect her to the bitter end quite literally. He was the one who found and saved her and well I can see her wanting to know more about the camp and maybe try to find out what he gets up to when not with her. Maybe they take a trip into Paris together though knowing Nate he'd rather her not come with him. Also I was hoping on making a past thread around the time when Nate goes back into the village finds out what happens then searches for Vanessa. My other thing is that they might end up talking about that at some point. Richard: I don't see them meeting so well  Max: ah I had talked about this with the others, this one is totally up to you I was thinking and so was CC about her maybe developing a crush on Max, and through this Max has been gaining information on the Sacred Heart (though even if she ahd a crush I don't see her giving anything too damaging not that he would use the too damaging stuff) just encase something were to come up that Percy and the rest of the league might need to know about like aristos being in danger. Like i said totally up to you it could develop into something more maybe who knows what do you think here ? |

I like all of your ideas. Which one do you want to start with? I was thinking maybe Vanessa could wake up in the middle of the night with a nightmare and he could comfort her? Or he could be showing her around the camp if you like. She will also beg him to take her to Paris. And I would also love to do a back-in-time thread when he finds her in the cottage. And I'm sending you a PM about another plot idea. |

So, I've been thinking about why Chauvelin would have gone after the Sacred Heart, especially taking the risks he has. Political situation being what it is, going after some rebel group in the woods is like trying to bail with a solo cup. But then I saw that Vanessa is heir to a dukedom(?), which would go to whatever man married her. So if some enterprising bachelor who outranks Chauv discovered somehow who and where she was ...

Well I like either of the ideas maybe it starts as a nightmare but then they walkabout camp ? Yeah i quite like that idea

Nathaniel & Vanessa: I can start the nightmare thread and we can see where it leads. And just let me know when you are ready for the past thread. Chauvelin & Vanessa: Yep, she's heir to a dukedom. Would your idea mean that Chauvelin would be looking for her? If so, plot bunnies are jumping around in my head, because I was thinking eventually she would be captured somehow and taken to the palace where she would meet the King. Then the Sacred Heart could rescue her or something. This idea is still in its infancy, but basically, Henri and Vanessa are going to meet and fall for each other. At first she won't know that he's the king, but after that, she needs to be taken to the palace somehow so she can discover who he really is. So any ideas to help this along are much appreciated. It could even have the makings of a subplot.

I'm sure if Vanessa's part of the reason for the raid on the SH camp, she'd be taken to the palace sooner rather than later afterwards. The Chouannerie probably would try to keep her incommunicado there, but she's a resourceful lass and I'm sure she could slip her leash a bit ...
