Montparnasse. Thief, lover of the garrote (who also has an ongoing relationship with the knife), nineteen-year-old former gamin, dandy who lives on theft and has no desire to ever do an honest day's work. He knows the streets of Paris well, and has a particular familiarity with and fondness of the catacombs beneath the district from which he takes his name. A tragic case and an example of the failings of the world around him, really... but he wouldn't see it that way. And has zero interest in risking his own skin to change the world when he can simply extract what he needs and wants from it.
Friends are probably difficult for him to make--of course he might have some alliances from time to time, but he's a generally selfish sort who has no desire to expend any more energy than necessary. Likely he did have some friends as a small boy--but he's grown up, and most of that development has been for the worse. He is still capable of conversation and such, and there are bound to be people he prefers over others--though he's not a particularly deep thinker or someone you're going to invite for a friendly debate over coffee, either.
Enemies are, perhaps, very plentiful. He's often jealous, murderous, selfish... And a dangerous enemy to have, one who enjoys seeing the fear he can inflict on others. Usually it's nothing personal--you just have the material things he wants, or are an obstacle to him getting those things. And he has the tools on his person to take care of that problem.
Lovers... well, his interests in love aren't really in love. I very much doubt he's anything but an extremely selfish lover, either... but he's handsome, and he knows he's handsome--and he's firmly of the opinion that he can get any girl he likes (at least from the streets). Presumably, he has much of his adolescence to back up this claim.
