Marius, How is it that we have officially met tonight, yet I feel as though I've known you all my life? You are the solid form of every wish I made upon a star. I find that I am lost. I know no longer who I am when you are not near. It's as if I leave my very self with you when we are parted; I am only complete when you are near. I pray that you find me soon. Yours, Cosette

Dearest Cosette, Can it really just be a few days since we first met? It seems as if I have known you forever. Perhaps we have met-in a vision or another life. My life had only just begun the moment our eyes first met! I must see you again on the 4th-there is something I must ask of you in person. Until then, Your Marius

My Marius, It is all too lovely to be able to call you mine. Days...but just days have passed since we met! Mere days that have felt like full lifetimes. I may be young in years, but I am old in love. Ah, perhaps that is it! Maybe we were mourning doves, that perched side by side and watched the world go by. They bond for life, those birds. I have no other obligations on the 4th. I am now reserved all of the 4th particularly for you! Every second of the day and night shall be yours. To be honest, I hadn't seen anything until I saw you. - Cosette

Dear Cosette, I was born to be with you—I always have been and always will be yours. As am I! My life was mere existence before we met. I shuffled along through it a simple traveler, now, with you I have found a home.
Not just for life, for eternity! Even when this heart that beats only for you stops beating, even when I draw my last breath—with your name on my lips—my soul will be bound to yours.
It is settled then! I am sad to say that I can only see you in the evening—I am sorry, my love, but for the rest of the day I must work. But I promise that every hour of every day will belong to you and only you after that day. I know you told me that you will be leaving for England soon, but I will find a way for us to be together, I swear—and my heart will always be true to you.
With all my love,
Marius
