Henri is, of course, an aristocrat by birth. And has an estate he doesn't live in. But you know who does live there? His mother!
Check his app for more details his background (and therefore on her), but this is the short form of what I've been thinking so far:
-Her first name is up to you. Something French I'm sure! (so helpful, right?)
-Probably in her 50s. Henri is 25, and he was born after she'd already lost one son and had a string of miscarriages. He is her only surviving child.
-Widowed. Her husband was quite a strict man, but died of an illness after Henri had already taken to the forest.
-Intelligent. She does most of the estate management these days, as Henri is generally only interested in it when it can help his rebellion
-Loving. I imagine she knows a fair amount about what Henri is up to, but is too fond of him to try to get him caught.
-Perhaps was quite the socialite in her youth?
-What she -actually- thinks about Henri's behavior is up to you!
Ideas for how she would interact with others:
She's probably quite aware of Henri's friendship with Nathaniel and love for Helene, and although she likely finds the former quite acceptable, she may still be iffy about the latter. Of course, that's probably the least of the strains on her relationship with her son given he's gone and become a rather militant republican!
Henri does go back to the estate periodically to get supplies he's ordered through it (how much his mother does this on his behalf out of concern for his well-being is up to you), so they do see each other. He's convinced she wouldn't like seeing how he really lives, though, so he cleans up for her and still acts like he believes she wants him to.
PB ideas... I'm so bad at this. Fanny Ardant might be an option if you can find suitable pictures, but that's just the first one I found that I could imagine working so it's totally open for other ideas.
