Louis Thenardier has made his living off other people's miseries. Whether by enticing alcoholics into his bar, by eking whatever money he can out of them, stealing their valuables when they're too drunk to think and then leaving them out on the street. Of course a lot of people took offense to Thenardier's work ethic. Suffice to say those people were thrown out into the street too. Cut so bad that they weren't recognisable. This is a man who takes no prisoners, defends his family with his life and despite his smaller stature. Not someone you want to have a fight with.

Essentially his friend circle is wide, well wide in the fact that he knows a lot of people whom he could get money off should he need to call in his favors. Patron-Minette members and his favorite darlings Eponine and Azelma are chief amongst his inner circle. He would do anything to protect his daughters and despite the fact that he might lose his rag with them sometimes. He cares for them in a deeply paternal and understanding way.

Nate
I don't them as friends yet I don't see them entirely as enemies either. I think Nathaniel might have some sort of respect for Louis, yet at the same time he would find him rather despicable. He does not seem as a trust worthy person ,but he might see some sort of business that can be done with Thenardier, obviously its a dangerous game and both would know not to cross the other, something would have to be init for the both of them. Nate is a bit of hypocrite in terms of things he does not like if that helps any. Nate though would not strike a deal with someone like Louis if it was something that could seriously harm the Scared heart and other stuff like that, Louis might not even know he is in the Scared Heart but then I think he knows these things right ?

Max is a totally different story all together, Hate and enemy through and through, Max could never like a man who would purposefully set out to cause misery and pain, or even enjoy it so much. I would not see them being around each other much but i'm pretty sure they would run into each other and they can go from there. Also Max is not stupid either, i'm sure the hate between the two would be mutual ? He is more likely to meet the street Max at the momment rather than Maximilian the Aristocrat but that still possible and I can see interesting stuff going done there.

Louis and Nate

Louis don't make deals that don't suit him. He won't be scared at all of Nate, in fact on the contrary he's seen his fair share of ne'er do wells who think they know something about violence, only to realise that bringing a gun to a knife fight is never a good idea ;D

Louis will of course try and manipulate Nate into a meeting then have him arrested by the police. Just remember Nate's dealing with someone far, far more slippery than he is and Louis' has gotten out of a lot worse than dealing with a love-struck republican ;D

Louis and Max

I have an idea that involves Louis taking Max hostage in exchange for some sort of huge ransom that if it's not paid well... the knives'll come out ;D

I do however like the idea and it brings up some fantastic ideas that I can spit out, because I don't suspect his family actually coming to the rescue, his fathers not attached to him as the other son and not sure about the mother. Max would pretty sure they won't pay so he would be coming up with ways to try get free. If they actually do end up paying im not sure but that's what I think on that. It be quite fun if the hostage taking happens while Max is his street self Max, how Louis got wind of who Max is is your choice. But yeah it opens a lot of plot ideas and I could see it growing, I like it it could work and as I said Max won't go quietly though Im sure in the end he will have no choice.


Louis and Nate
Nate would actually bring a Knife to a Knife fight and a gun, he is the type to suspect a trap but then maybe overconfidence gets the better of him, he certainly wont trust Louis and I see them getting to a dual of minds almost. I Would see as you say Louis being a bit more sly. You may find though that the man might be able to make an interesting deal to help Louis with Adrienne. Yeah thoguh what you said is good

Oh they'll pay. 'Specially when fingers start getting sent home ;D Of course they might not be Max's but they'll be similar Just remember like I said Louis' been in this business longer than most people have been alive and he knows how to go about holding a hostage properly. Just look at Gobrette.

Louis and Nate

A few things. Firstly Louis don't need no help in dealing with his women. Secondly not trusting Louis is a very good idea as he'll do anything for money including selling Nate out. Thirdly, Louis is good at setting traps that look like normal environments

Louis and Max

You nearly gave me a heart attack I nearly thought it would Max's fingers which I'm not entirely sure if I'd allow or be comftable with . Im sure he would know how to hold a hostage properly but maybe we make it so he does end up getting saved, but his parents don't know and they end up paying or maybe made to believe he is dead ?Which would be perfect for an idea I have. Max will certainly try save himself but I'm sure Louis will be there to stop him at every corner. Max is a speedy person by the way.

Louis and Nate
Hmm I could see these two trying to one up to Nate would often be checking his surroundings and every detail. I Would love maybe if these two start off on a deal, that benefits the both of them were something goes wrong and what we discussed happens from there. I'd lvoe to see these two trying to outfox each other.

Hehehe, Master of the House! I have a weakness for Thenardier, not gonna lie. Mylie probably knows him from her times of being a thief, for roughly five years, as I already said in the cbox, and you mentioned something about Louis wanting her to keep an eye on Ponine? ^^ They're roughly the same age, right? Ponine and Mylie? But maybe they also don't get along too well, since in former times the band of young thieves she belonged to spoilt some of his games? i'm open for anything there xD

As far as the two of them being tied up somehow I can see that, he's been around a long time and he most certainly would remember how a group of little thieves used to steal from him. Perhaps he killed one of her friends and she remembers that? It's something he'd do. Also as far as looking after Eponine, perhaps Louis helps her out when she's in a sticky situation and she repays him by looking out for his daughter? Again the idea of stealing from Louis takes brass balls so he'd respect that and despise it equally.

As a teenage girl I can imagine he's liable to leniency, particularly since he's fond of his daughters and perhaps Mylie in a way reminds him of someone like Eponine? All fiery personality and loving heart? Perhaps as a thief Mylie might even have been the third daughter he always wanted but never had, again just ideas tell me what you think and as always feel free to pm me

Sheesh, so many great ideas, now what to combine and such I like the idea of him getting her out of a tight spot and demanding that little price in return. As for her somehow being his 'third daughter' that would collide with the killing of one of her friends, right? I doubt she would take well to that! I'd see it like this

Louis Thenardier owns a bar, he regularly puts of on performances of his knife-throwing expertise at said bar.

'Stray' knife hits one of Mylene's friends as he/she is trying to rob something and that friend dies.

Louis later finds Mylene (still young) still thieving and occaisionally throws her some money.

Perhaps over the years they've struck up some sort of raport, perhaps she's gone for a walk with him and he's helped teach her a few things about knives?

Louis (in the present day) using all of his irrefutable charm and guile bumps into Mylene whilst she's trapped in a tight corner by the cops. He 'convinces' the cops to take a hike and then helping her up he takes a shine to her, maybe throws her a few francs, in exchange for helping Eponine remain safe.
