The Daughter of a Wolf -- Eponine

[EPONINE THENARDIER]

My first plotter, so bear with me!

This is the plotter for Eponine Thenardier. For anyone not familiar with the character (and really why are you on this site if you aren't), she is the eldest Thenardier child. A bit of a cynic and no stranger to the criminal element, she flits about the streets of Paris just trying to survive. She's been seen hanging around Marius more often than not and follows him to his meetings with the other revolutionaries.

-Friends-

Now obviously, she is friends with Marius at this point, and care deeply for her siblings. But I do believe she needs some more friends. However, given that she's a pessimist, she may be a tough nut to crack. Looking forward to playing with that aspect.

-Lovers-

Eponine is head over heels for Marius, but he doesn't even notice her. While I don't want her to forever be the third wheel, I would like to get that triangle a little more established before she realizes she's more in love with the IDEA of Marius than the man himself. That said, I'm open to long term plot suggestions on this front.

-Enemies-

Being a criminal, Eponine avoids the police at all costs. That's not to say she hates them. She simply knows that to cross their path is a sure shot to prison. If there were anyone in her life she hated, it would be her parents, and most recently, that damn Lark. Stupid perfect blonde... Just who does she think she is anyway?! (Of course that thought is quickly followed by guilt at how she treated Cosette and that her current state might just be punishment for past sins.)

Max: I could see Max wanting to help her, when he could when everyone knows he's a son of an aristocrat he might go back to his estate and try get money for her, try help her out. he's also with the Amis btw. Anyway um was thinking that while hes a bit young for anything majorly romantic with an 18 year old I could see him slightly crushing on her a bit.

Nate: They could meet not sure what to do with these two maybe he pays her to find out information for him but something tells me ponine wont do that so er not sure unless you can think of something


Richard: if she steals from him let's just say be ready for one unhappy bunny

Okaaay, so here we have a girl that once lived as a thief and later as a juggler, and now works as a barmaid at the ABC café. Since I am plotting with Louis that they knew each other when Mylène waslittle, it might be likely Eponine and Mylène also knew each other, since they're roughly about the same age. Not to mention that they both have connections to the ABC friends If you like, we can have these two girls be friends (Mylie might even take Ponine's side concerning her affection for Marius and his infatuation with Cosette), since they seem to share some traits. Funny thing is, that while Ponine is a pessimist, Mylie is the cheekiest optimist you can find. It's her way to deal with all the crap she's been through, just taking life as a joke in general, and while that might exasperate people sometimes, she can also be a source of optimism and energy for others. Just let me know whatcha think

Mylene: Yes! I'd love for her and Ponine to bounce off each other. I think it could have a pretty awesome chemistry there. It might drive Eponine up the wall, but meh. I like putting my characters through the wringer.

Max: I think the idea of a little aristocrat crushing on Eponine is great! She'd be a little stubborn about accepting charity, but if she was hunger enough, she might.

Nate: Ponine is nothing if not her father's daughter. If there's a bit of money to be made, she'll try for it, to a point. So I guess it would depend on what information he wanted to know.

Richard: I have thought about her getting caught pick-pocketing at some point down the line. Just something to keep in the back of our minds.

Mylène&Ponine:
Hehehe, nawww Mylie isn't THAT bad OK what shall we do: Have them meet before, during or after the May event? It's kinda our linchpin on the site atm, since we don't have a set end to it and don't know how the charries will be affected by it. Either we could have a scheduled meeting or a suprising one, what would you like better.

Lucien&Eponine:
Just to give you an idea there's this guy too, though he probably would not even voluntarily talk to her ^^ He likes his girls submissive and high born, not painted with grime of the streets. I just would find it funny if he thought her a boy and wanted to bully her because he thought she was doung something forbidden... and then went all like: OMG a girll...!

Max: hehe that would most likely be after he ha come out to the Amis though, but yeah glad you like the idea.

Nate: Well how good is she at overhearing conversations from authorities and such ?

Richard: Well when you want her to get caught Richard is always available

Mylene: Whatever works best for you is fine by me! Heaven knows Eponine is around the Cafe enough, either with or without Marius that they're bound to run into each other eventually.

Lucian: I love it! Eponine's already indignantly stamping her foot in my head. "Arrogant, pompous... Of course I'm a girl!"

Nate: Fairly good. Her father uses her as a lookout because her instincts are pretty good at telling her who to watch and who to listen to. Plus who is going to think anything of a skinny girl of the gutter sitting on the stones next to a building. She's just that unassuming.

Oh I like the idea of them meeting at the café... Mylène's working there enough after all, and sometimes when the boys are not around, she can use the company for sure xD I could set something up for ya, if ye like xD

This is totally random, so you have EVERY right to say no, but in the past on this board, Valjean has interacted with Eponine, and thinks of her as another girl he wishes he could have saved from Thenardier, and has sometimes tried to slip her money. If you don't want to do that and you're overwhelmed with other threads, of course I'd understand, especially since Valjean is busy trying to care for Cosette and Eponine is busy with all the stuff happening in the streets. But yeah, I thought it might be an interesting idea if you're up for it ^^

Valjean: Sounds fine by me! Eponine is stubborn though and not all that quick to take charity, and certainly not quick to trust people offering it. But it'd be a fun thing to play around with.

Mylene: Yay! I'll post there today!

I definitely agree, she wouldn't accept charity easily. I wonder whether she would recognize Valjean from her childhood? *scratches chin*

We don't have to do anything with them right now, but perhaps something in the future, if it makes sense at the time :]

Oh, I can also throw Courfeyrac at her. In the book, Courfeyrac was the one that Eponine often asked about Marius' location. He just thought she was a little boy following him around, lol, but yeah.

I'm up for just about anything. I doubt she'd recognize him, since she only saw him briefly years ago. But once she sees him with Cosette, it'll all click. Heck, she might even hold some misdirected resentment for him. It was just after Cosette was taken away that everything went to hell.

As for Coufeyrac, I'm all for Eponine interacting with the Barricade Boys as much as possible.

That all makes sense to me! Perhaps we can work something out after the craziness of the parade dies down a little bit, though I have a feeling that things are just going to get ramped up more with Lamarque's death and funeral...
