[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: f9f9f9; border: #1f4579 solid 10px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] At the end of the day you're another day colder FULL NAME: Lieutenant Lucien Gervais de La Tour d’Azyr, Comte de Solz NICKNAMES: Luce (Only by a selected few!), Sans-Grâce, Lucifer (both as a mocking of his name and as reluctant respect) HERITAGE: French AGE: 25 GROUP: Aristocracy / Chouannerie CANON: nope PLAYBY: Benjamin Strecker ----- PERSONALITY: Lucien has an air of detachment about him, you would probably call it blasé, since he has been brought up to think himself higher up and of far more value than most people. Amongst his own kind he can be smooth, but still not very amiable, and there his a hint of ruthlessness and pride in everything he says and does. He likes to carry the reputation of a young man not to be messed with, and he will look down on those he thinks weak or below his own status, unless he wants something from them, then this arrogance will turn into being patronizing. His main passion is fencing and he sees it as the most noble of pastimes – while often provoking others into duels. He has a fiery temper, and though he has worked on countenance for a long time now, he WILL demand satisfaction for any slight of his honour, and is confident to win every of these duels. Concerning girls he is a chauvinist on one hand, and prefers them to look up to him and not talk back to him, but there is also that certain intrigue when met with a woman who can match him in arrogance and ruthlessness. He likes the feeling of power, and therefore would like to rise in rank quicker, or get the title of his father – even though that would mean he’d have boring responsibilities to deal with and that is something he despises to the utmost. All in all, Lucien is a man not easily liked and easily put off. His ego will get in his way very often, and he has to be careful not to offend the wrong people. Since he doesn’t care much for anything and anyone, scruples have yet to be found in him. He is loyal to the crown of course, but likes the idea of a child king, since that gives the aristocracy far more leeway. Again… it is all about power and the aptitude to wield it. His father has been a role model in cunning, and though he doesn’t care about making anyone but himself proud, he still strives to achieve much of the reputation his father, the Marquis de La Tour d’Azyr has gained. APPEARANCE: Lucien has inherited much of the looks of his father, who has been described as a “tall, graceful man, upright and soldierly of carriage”, and his sharply carved features make him handsome enough to be attractive for the other sex, though they also add to his slightly detached air. One of his quick dalliances once described Lucien as ‘the face of an angel, but the eyes of the devil’ and this certainly bears some truth. For while Lucien might have a nice smile and uses this smile often to his advantage, it never reaches his dark eyes. They remain cold and calculating and make you wonder what abyss might lie behind them… an abyss that is alluring and at the same repellent. He has the wiry figure of a trained fencer, stronger than he looks on the outside, and slender, long fingers, and he wears his hair usually cropped short, not sporting any curls to speak of. He sports some scars, but the only plainly visible blemish he has is a fine line across his right cheek from a rapier. He is usually seen in his Lieutenant uniform and only takes it off for fencing practice, liking the ‘authority’ it gives him, even though he is only a Lieutenant yet. GOALS: What Lucien wants, he wants for himself. He’d like to rise in rank as quickly as possible and though he doesn’t want the responsibility he’d also like the title of his father, be the Marquis and not just own the honorable title of Comte de Solz without any peerage attached to it. He also does NOT want to see any republican uprising that could threaten the souvereignity of the aristocracy, and so he will fight against it with all his might. One day, he’d like to marry, best a girl that brings some money and doesn’t bore him too much. HISTORY: Lucien was born on 13th of April in 1807 as the first and only (legitimate) son of the Marquis de La Tour d’Azyr and the Marquess Leonore, formerly Comtesse de Lehon. From an early age on her was used to get everything he wanted, and while his father never showed true fatherly affection he made sure his son knew what being a future Marquis entailed and that while he might have some duties of noblesse oblige, most of what he had were privileges – and rightfully so. In his father’s world, everything belonged to those who had the money and the power to take it, and it showed in his lifestyle, a lifestyle which Lucien adapted as soon as he was old enough to understand it. But times were not always good for the noble families of France, and though Lucien had been born after Napoleon’s rise to power and witnessed the restauration of the Bourbon dynasty as a boy, the effects of the First French Revolution were prominent on all their minds, resulting in a profound hatred of everything with the remotest republican tendencies. As the son of a Marquis, he was educated to the best, and as soon as he was old enough, he was sent to the military accademy of Saint Cyr in Paris, the best the whole of France could offer, and he quickly showed his prowess there. Ever since being a young boy, he had taken a fancy to fencing and had been educated by none other than his father, an excellent swordsman himself, and on the academy he pursued that career further, while learning the use of other weapons as well. His personal lifestyle was in all aspects that of a young noble with too much money and too much time on his hands. He liked to gamble, to drink, to have dalliances and he also loved to provoke his peers to duels, demanding satisfaction for the minorest of insults. Their secret duelling place was a secretive place behind an old ruin in the Jardin du Luxembourg, often in the first crisp of morning, and Lucien almost always won the fights – his most prominent defeat adorning him with a fine scar on his right cheek. He did know very little loss and sadness in his life, one of those moments being the untimely death of his mother when he was 21. His father did not marry again after that, which only fuelled Lucien’s hopes of being the only heir to his father’s land and title. He himself only wore his father’s second title, Comte de Solz, as an honorary name without any peerage attached to it, but he intended to make his own fortune by military prowess. Most fights however France had to fight within its own borders in the years of Lucien’s service. Trouble was brewing again, with the nobles returning from exile and the supporters of the revolution still cutting their rights. The old Marquis had stayed in contact with many of the expatriates and had used his influence in their return, so it was only natural he joined forces with them in their strife for mutual interests: The Chouannerie. Once Lucien was old enough – and willing – to get interested in politics, he became his father’s spokesman for those who had their main operation base in Paris, while the old Marquis had to tend to his affairs on his estate. The 1830’s coup was their greatest milestone, but to Lucien’s chagrin now he could not quite so freely return to his life of leisure and polishing his own ego, as soon after trouble began brewing again. Now, on the brink of another uprising, he is doing his best to keep both his own interests and the interests of the other aristocrats in a good balance. When the time comes to fight he will be ready… for Lucien de La Tour d’Azyr never had qualms with killing those he thought beneath himself. Up until this day he is not really aware that it was his own father who helped create one of the figureheads of Republican Risings: André-Louis Moreau, also called ‘Scaramouche’, and, as fate would have it, Lucien’s half brother. ----- ALIAS: Gwen AGE: 25 GENDER: female OTHER CHARACTERS: Mylène La Coquine HOW DID YOU FIND US: Slayeeer!!
