Im not really sure what to say about these two they might know each other they might not Richard as many contacts within the political world though most of them English he does have a few from other countries. Im sure Chauvelin would of Heard of Richard he is after all a very well known and Prominent British Politician. Im just not sure for Ideas right now they might be be able to get on they might not. Have you got any ideas for these two ?

Hmmmmm xD Oh yes, devious reasons, I am alllll for that!! I like the idea of Alain having worked for Chauvelin. Mylie is asking herself the same question why he is still alive, it's truly a valid one Maybe he WAS working for Paul, but being the juggler he is wanted to test the boundaries and maybe make a bit of profit himself, only that he got entangled in things far too over his head, underestimating both Paul's power and the secrets he was knowing. So, Alain had to vanish for both the sake of the spygame and for his own 'protection' in a twisted way. Maybe Chauvelin intends to set him free one day, either when the secret he knows is no longer of relevance or when he felt Alain learned his lesson of never ever trying to doublecross the spymaster for some pathetic own gain Could that work? Or is that not 'devious' enough? ^^

@richard – Chauvelin did travel to England once, where he attended the Crown Prince's birthday party in place of the French ambassador. He was treated by the aristos there about as well as you'd expect for a guest who was A – a republican and B – French. If Richard attended, they might have met then. Chauv was introduced as being part of the French Ministry of Justice, which sounds about right. MYLÈNE LACOQUINE – Percolating on it came together with your evil deviousness a character idea I've been noodling over for awhile. Here's the notion – Alain is one of the few people who work directly for Paul and thus know who's behind the code name 'Falcon.' When Sylvie St-Cyr began her quest to track down the mysterious Falcon, Paul got wind that she was closing in on the Crow and realized that if she got her hands on him, the jig was up. Since Alain was (and is) one of his top people, Paul didn't want to kill him, so instead he vanished him into the Conciergerie. And there Alain remains, under another name, safe and living in as much comfort as can be arranged (which, given the level of corruption among the guards there, is considerable). Sound viable?

LOL but if he's not treated badly, Mylène will HATE him for having risked her life trying to bail him out of where he wouldn't even want out God, would she HATE him... It'd be for her like she did it all invain, because he was living a 'merry' life (compared to what could have been his fate) and wouldn't even have needed her desperate rescue plans and whatnot. Her little heroine heart would be seriously crushed I have to think about whether I want to be so mean to her or not. Not that I don't like to be mean to my charries though ^^ But then that would give me an idea of how we can make Paul and Mylène interact on a directer level, if we so want Maybe Mylène is somehow getting too close for comfort with all the people she tries to dig up to help find Alain, so Paul would feel like the 'ghost' of the past is somehow returning, and he would 'advise' her to stop looking for him, since he was not treated badly. If she'd stop and believe him is a different matter

Could be even worse, if you want to be truly evil -- she might lead Sylvie to him.
hmm. What if Chauv agrees (perhaps persuaded by Gus) to meet incognito with Mylène -- only Sylvie and/or some of her people follow Mylène, leading to a chase?

hmmm. With a street chase, all sorts of people might get involved. Louis, Les Amis, Javert, Valjean, the Minettes, Gus (if he isn't already), etc.

Lucien&Chauv: Hmmm, I remember this wonderful idea we had, about Lucien getting in the way of Chauv's try to 'steal' the king once the rebels start storming the Tuilleries Even before that, they could probably meet up, as powerful as Chauv is, just that Luce of course would not know about his secret identity, right? He probably would even treat him with reluctant respect, since he knows what influence the guy has. As for getting along personally... I think that's gonna be more difficult

Influence? Me? I'm just a lowly chevalier, m'lord. You must have me confused with someone else -- begging your pardon, of course. Seriously, though, Paul would be going to considerable lengths to keep his head down. I'm not even sure how many of the Chouannerie know who he is. So, if you want, Lucien could be his usual git self and Paul would take it (while quietly adding Luc to the come-the-revolution list).

Hahahhaa, the 'come-the-revolution' list, I love it!!! If they have some clash(es) before the king thing, the meeting down wherever they confront each other then could be a bit if :'so, here we meet again, seems you're not only lowly born, you're also a traitor' kind of thing... just that Lucien would be really astonished to see Chauv's bad, more ruthless side ^^ I love to fool my charries and give them rude awakenings

ooooh. Paul's competent with a sword, but his beating a duelist half his age is unlikely (unless he cheats, which is not beyond the realm of possibility). What if they clash again after le Roi's been hidden by Chauv for awhile, and Luc's in the process of carving Paul up when his liege pops up and orders him to stop?

Andre: Is a recent arrival from Algeria, representing the French Foreign Legion in a petition for more funding and actual support from the government (instead of just being tossed out there and told "survive"). A meeting perhaps a month prior to the rebellion would be preferred if possible!

I believe that could be arranged. Militaries tend to have a way of tipping the balance in revolutions, so Chauvelin would definitely want to get the Foreign Legion onside. Perhaps Andre was sent in his direction by Lamarque (who would've had some idea of Paul's true role). Would make for a delightfully careful conversation.

Oh, definitely. In fact, Andre's battalion will be just outside of Paris because they're preparing for a royal inspection, to show the King just how badly they need funding. But I have it that Lamarque knew Andre's father as they both served in Napoleon's army, so perhaps Andre is told to go speak to Chauvelin and listen to his "proposition." Sound good?
