Welcome Rebecca! I'm Emmy, the second staffer here, usually to be found on this account, the NPC account La Mort, Valjean, Marguerite Blakeney, or Courfeyrac. (Whew!) So I play Cosette's papa <3 as CC informed you.

As far as what was going on with Cosette, there were quite a few back threads you can read if you like, but the gist of it was that Valjean wanted to take Cosette to England because he had encountered the Thenardiers and Javert and things were getting violent in the streets. So they moved to their other house and now he wants to take her to Calais. Howevr, (and you should talk to Mel to confirm this), Marius and Cosette have been meeting secretly and I believe Marius has proposed. So really, you're coming in at the exciting part because the barricades are going up and Valjean is gonna gohelp save Marius when he realizes the full extent of the secret romance his chosette is having!

There have also been many letters exchanged, past threads, etc. I'm happy to link you to them, but of course we should have some threads of our own as well! We could continue one that our last Cosette left unfinished, or we can start a new one!

so i think these girls should sort of stick together! chetta and cosette is probably somewhat similar in personality, so they should get along quite well. chetta is caring and compassionate, and usually pretty high spirited. she's friendly, so she's always try to make friends with anyone. perhaps they met somewhere and struck a friendship? idk, i'll let you decide what they can be :)

Cosette is practically a caged bird. She probably would have met Chetta somewhere in town on the way to a charitable visit? Or church? She's quite well-behaved and rarely goes out on her own, so whatever you can pull from that.
I'd assume that the little chosette would also admire Chetta. I gathered from your app that she's outspoken and is knowledgable, whereas Cosette does not know too much about social issues, etc, other than what she has seen while she's out with her Papa (she is well-educated, but not in that aspect of, ya know, life*).

Maybe they wouldn't be, like, amazing friends, but maybe sometime ago, when things were calmer, Chetta would visit Cosette at her gardens? I'm sure Papa wouldn't be angry about that d:
