Jacques Combeferre – James McAvoy
I put him first because Combe is going to crash with him after the barricades. Jacques is Blaise’s older brother. He’s thirty-two and married with children ( I have no preference for how many/what gender, I just like the idea of Combeferre being an uncle XD ). He’s much more outgoing, charming, and amiable than Combe is and he’s also a crazy awesome lawyer and his father’s favorite child. He isn’t very close to Combe because of the fact that he’s older and lives in England, but he would genuinely like to have a stronger relationship with his brother. That being said he's the only one in the family on Combe's side in the matter of his choice of a love interest.



Pierre Combeferre – Hugh Bonneville
The Combeferre patriarch. He and Blaise don’t get along at all for two reasons: one, Pierre is a monarchist, and two, he’s upset that Combeferre refuses to take up the family business. He wants Jacques to take over operations in England and Combeferre in France, but obviously Combe isn’t helping any with his plan. The only reason he has not yet disinherited him is because he’s Elizabeth’s favorite.

Elizabeth Combeferre - ?

I don’t have a picture because I’m not sure what she should look like, so that’s completely up to whoever takes her. Unlike her husband, her chief concern is her sons’ happiness rather than their monetary success ( though in her mind both would be nice ). She’s always fighting Combe’s corner with Pierre because she loves her “darling boy”. She’s very protective—Combe would say overprotective—of her son, constantly sending him letters and asking about his pretty much nonexistent love life because she wants more grandbabies. Oh, and she’s English.

Lady Diana Newcastle – 21 - Michelle Dockery





The Newcastles are one of the oldest and richest familes in England. They maintain several houses and an earldom—Diana is the daughter of the current Earl of Oxford, whom Jacques has advised on several legal matters. She is very much a product of her class—elitist, pompous, and condescending toward those she views as inferior. She’s very used to getting what she wants. However, she does have her redeeming qualities. She was and is appalled over her arranged engagement with a former revolutionary—not only because of his politics, but because she had no say in the matter herself and doesn’t love him. She is clever, well-read, and ambitious, and empathetic and charming when she wants to be. She has a proclivity for selfishness but the capacity for selflessness on the rare times she looks past her own circumstances.

Combeferre and Diana barely know each other, only having met at like 2 or 3 balls, but after the barricades, their fathers got together and arranged their marriage--for money and to keep Combeferre out of trouble because of Lord Newcastle's influence.
