Count me in. Still wondering if the Sacred Heart is republicans or royalists, though. In the show they were royalists, but here they seem to be republicans. Either is fine with me, I just need to know, since it'll affect how Chauvelin views them.

Though would it not be easier if say Chauvelin and Gus split up a little maybe so Chauv is able to meet Nathaniel ? This idea has the makings of epicness

I've been trying to think how best to get Chauv and Gus out to the rebel camp. Since Chauv's trusted by the aristos (the more fools they), he might get assigned courier duty, taking some important secret message somewhere. Maybe to the gunpowder factory at Essonne. Since it's an important message, he should have a guard, but since it's a secret message, not a whole troop of them. Maybe just one man who's worth a whole troop of them. Sacred Heart gets wind of the operation and ambushes them (preferably without killing them! even if Gustave fights as hard as I suspect he will!). Sound like a plan?

Actually that's a really good plan I like it, and Nates though as I said he cane be very cold hearted to his enemies is not going to kill someone outright if he believes they might have information that is valuable and be of some use. Also if it was Just Gustave there Nate would be impressed very impressed. Well yeah I think it could work

That sounds good to me, maybe the reason they are not killed is because they are unsure of who Chauv and Gus are. Perhaps they think that if they are important they can use their lives as a bribe.

Wonderful! Just to indulge me, can we clarify what the plot is here, because there’s so many ideas bouncing about in different plotters, I want to be sure im on the same wave length as everyone else.

True, it's rather confusing. I've taken the liberty of putting up a post for it in the sub-plots section, so we can bring everything together. The plot name is something I just pulled out of the air, and suggestions for something better are welcome.

So, figuring out where everyone in the ambush is ...

There's Christian and an unknown number of men up on the cliff. The two men who were with Nate & Ames, who fired from the trees and then moved on (as Gus didn't find them there). And there's Nate (whose horse was shot and killed) and Ames on the road with Chauv and the (returned) Gus (whose horse is also dead).

Okay, I'll do some percolating. Christian and his crew should probably do something.

Richard and Gustave

I think Richard would hold some respect for soldier he wont out rightly like him but he's doing his job and he does it well. Richard did not like Napoleon but did respect the man, he is also a staunch Monarchists. They don't have to be friends but they could have respect for each other and like each other to a small degree. Richard is a well known and prominent Politician in the British Government who comes to France every now and then with his family, one reason being His wife's love of France. Maybe while they are in France knowing that things are getting worse and worse they are planning of abandoning the estate altogether. However maybe while they are there Richard may have asked Gustave to at least keep an eye on his family to make sure they are safe and that no harm befalls them. Oh and Here is one thing Richard thinks himself above the law though he wont say it outright. If that helps for plotting any

If the estate is outside Paris, Gustave is gonna need paying for that He also won't be able to attend to matters such as that if he's busy putting down a revolution. Remember being a police officer is a profession and a job and it's Gus' livelihood. Furthermore the only way you're above the law in Gustave's eyes is if you're hanging above his head with your neck in the noose.
