I literally can't imagine anyone be too interested in Gustave romantically, he's a big, muscular man who smokes cigars, drinks coffee and generally works towards preventing France falling back into anarchy, if anyone's interested or intrigued in plotting something romantic then feel free to do so, it'd be very interesting

Gustave is a friendly, gregarious gentleman, he's kind to women but to be his friend you must adhere to the law. His only real friend right now is currently Thomas Javert (I know right it's so cute) The two like to drink coffee, play chess and talk about police matters

Are you a Friend of the ABC? are you a potential revolutionary? Do you wish to see France broken once more? Or do you simply wish to cause anarchy. Any of the above will earn you one very large enemy and Gustave isn't afraid of lashing out against those he dislikes. Conversely he also despises Royalists and Aristocrats and serves them rather unwillingly, unlike his snivelling lapdog of a friend Javert.

Well as we sort of talked about already I can see both Maxi and Gustave, being sympathetic to the revolutionary movement and an aristocrat would only worsen it :) But yes we talked a bit already and well yeah as I said I don't see the two getting on really, though Maxi may have some degree of respect for him.

Hey! Slayer here as her second charrie.
Okay well Helenes apart of the rebel camp on the outskirts of Paris, shes followed her childhood sweet heart there and is an aristocrat through adoption. Shes influenced heavily, but the people around her and is extremely naive as to what she has got herself into. I dont know why, but think there might be an interesting plot here. Shes the Illegitimate daughter of Chauveiln (in politics) although she does not know, and he doesnt know about her. Perhaps Gustave is sent on a mission to spy on the rebel camps? Work out whats going on there? Brief encounter with Helene? Thoughts?

Well obviously Nathaniel and Gustave are not going to get along with Nate being Second in Command of the Sacred Heart, maybe they meet in some chance meeting or we could work it into what Slayer was saying with him spying on the rebel camps. Oh and Nate here is not nice to his enemy's he is rather cold hearted to them and if he's letting you escape from capture(not that im suggesting Gustave gets captured but that might be intreasting) or something like that there is a reason for it he's not one for second chances. If maybe they meet when not in the camps with Gustave not knowing who he is then they might get on for a while :)

Gustave and Maxi

I believe these two have been basically covered through our PMs but Gustave unlike Javert is more of a direct, rather than indirect person, he tends not to be the guy with the web of informants and prefers to keep order through intimidation rather than through information.

Now these two could be interesting, of course not in a romantic sense owing to Helene's status and age but Gustave if he did infiltrate Sacred Heart (apparently Javert's got him doing all sorts of infiltration duty) and he finds Helene lost and naively following a cause that could get her killed, he'd certainly be the kind of heroic figure to deliver her from such a fate. He likes to do good things :P

Now this could be interesting, in a physical confrontation I imagine Gustave would certainly get the better of Nathaniel, I mean G-Man is a giant in a world were 6'1 is considered well above average height. However I can imagine Nate is the kind of man who wouldn't take being beaten up by a police officer to lightly and would eventually take a shot or three at Gus should the opportunity ever arise.

Well of course if there were no weapons :) but yeah I could see if that were to happen Nate would certainly have Gustave further in his enemy list. He might even cook up some nasty plans for him, though he might not want to kill him straight away he might find it more useful to keep him a live and try kill him at a later date, if there be no use for him.

Though the thing here is I think the chain of command of the Sacred Heart would most likely be kept a secret ill ask Slayer about that, and well he's with them he's not publicly out as one :) I would think this could go interesting places, and if Slayer agrees maybe we could do a three way thread between Gustave, Nate and Helene. Oh and he's already finding ways to distract Gustave and Javert, paying people to cause disturbances and such.

That sounds good, he can try to save her or protect her, but she’s pretty headstrong. She left her family in order to stay with Henri and the sacred heart so she’s a bit of a stubborn one. It would be interesting though to have someone trying to force some sense into her.

In regards to ranks, with the sacred heart it is more military style so Henri and Nate would introduce themselves as Commander (Henri) and Lieutenant commander? (Nate) ?

A thread with all three of us could be good, maybe Helene and Gustave stumble upon each other and Nate comes in and intervenes?

Okay thanks for covering that for me Slayer though im not sure Nate would say his rank right away to someone who seems to have just joined, though im not sure how obvious it would be. If its three of us and we go that way maybe a few posts of just you two before Nate comes in. So like he does not come in straight away

Gus and Helene

Whether or not Helene actually has a say in, incurring Gustave's protection and help is a completely different matter. Gus is a man of action and of direct action at that. If he saw that she was in danger, lacking in guidance and only present at the Sacred heart for one reason and that was her husband. Gustave would probably drink himself into the right mind to simply carry her off in the night.

Gustave doesn't really understand love, well he does but he doesn't understand it's power over people and seeing Helene fighting so hard just to be with her husband would seem quite ridiculous to him.

A triple thread (get it I meant to say triple threat but changed the last T to a D) would be interesting. I can't imagine Gus would compromise his cover by swinging for the second in command at least not too early

He would kidnap her, oh woe is Gus how to incur Nate's wrath he and Helene may not see eye to eye but he will protect her for Henri certainly :) and I could imagine him trying to get her back if Gus does. Though would he really take her away from poor Vanessa the kid who she looks after for Nate at times :)

Well yes that would be amazingly a silly idea of Gus to do that Nate may have sucpisons at start but would grow to trusting him if Gus stayed under cover long enough. That kidnapping Helene idea seem fun :)

Tossing my chapeau into the ring. Chauvelin is a government agent (doesn't really matter which one, he works for whomever's in charge). He's already survived several regime changes thanks to an extensive network of informers and a finely-honed political sense. He's scarily good at predicting those regime changes and positioning himself to wind up on the winning side.

Right now, he sees the monarchy as not much longer for this world, so he's got no vested interest in ingratiating himself with a bunch of Royalists. He might, however, be sent to check them out. Or he might go to assess them himself, so he can figure out how much of a nuisance they'll be when the inevitable republican wave crashes in. Since he's at least nominally a representative of a royal government, they might even welcome him (ironically enough). On the other hand, they look suspiciously like bandits. Was talking with Newp in the cbox and he suggested Gustave might accompany Chauvelin as muscle, which makes a lot of sense. Chauvelin's pretty capable in the fighting area, but Gustave is ... Gustave.

Chauvelin doesn't know Helene's his daughter, but if/when he found out, he'd be right there with Gus rescuing her from that company of doomed lunatics.
