Everything in his life has a certain time that it will happen. He wakes up at a certain time, if he's slept at all, his trousers are always ironed this many times, and ironed clothes have to be placed in a specific spot. He goes to a cafe at a precise time every day to get a coffee. Heaven forbid a speck of dust lands on a polished shoe. He's also a stickler for the law. Naturally this means that he will get along with people who are equally as law abiding. He doesn't make friends easily, being too driven in his personal quests, instead he is more likely to keep them at a distance as acquaintances. To the upper class, the aristocrats and anyone generally of better standing then him he is respectful. He is also highly deferential, though he would never imagine considering them as friends on any level. They are even more in the acquaintance position than anyone else in the police force. In his mind he serves them in his moral duty to be the arm of the law. Enemies are naturally anyone who would break the law. He is constantly working out how to further his aims to capture Valjean, the parole breaker. Its usual to find him snooping about looking for clues. Of course pickpockets, street brats, and beggars also feature highly on his list of individuals you cannot trust. He has no soft space for whores, or their pimps, but he sees them as a needed vice. As long as they stay in their place, and do not try and interject on the upper classes life he is somewhat content to ignore them. Should there be trouble however he will side with the aristocracy. So now we have that over - plots! Hit me up!!

I think these two could be quite funny; perhaps Percy is visiting Paris either to gather information about someone or be attempting a rescue with the league. It would be amusing for Javert to run into Sir Percy, perhaps he’s smuggling an informant to safety, the informant could be a ‘lowlife’ someone who Javert’s looking for? Or Percy’s just shopping for Cravats! Either way I think the differences between these two could be rather amusing. Did you have any ideas?

I was thinking of something similar, any one of those situations would work. Maybe Javert speaking out about the Pimpernel as well, of course not seeing him in the best light considering what he's doing I believe is technically ... illegal. Percy would certainly have a field day with that no doubt I believe.

Because Javert's life just wouldn't be complete without the old jailbird to stalk. Ah, the joys of AU - we can have them meet up whenever and however necessary! Otherwise it would be a struggle to get them to interact without throwing off the plot. I don't want things to get too crazy, because if Valjean is arrested then he won't be able to interact with anyone else, haha, but otherwise, I'm down for anything. Perhaps another fun standoff that reaches an impasse?

Oh if I didn't know better I'd almost say Javert liked Valjean. He certainly stalks him enough. I'm really loving the idea of more impasses, as well as really enjoying the idea of the general tension. It's needed for all the tension to build. I know in the future, depending on how everything else works out, Valjean will end up being ultimately the catalyst for Javert dying.

They certainly have an interesting dynamic. He's so obsessed with getting Valjean to follow the law, which means he must have some kind of investment in him.

That sounds great, either that or Valjean managing to trick Javert into believing its NOT him at all, which honestly it wouldn't be the first time he's done that either xD (I believe he does that frequently ))

Ooh, you're right, you're right! They didn't do enough of that in the movie/musical. It might be fun for me to do the whole master-of-disguise thing. I like it. I'll post in the "tag box" on the right when the thread's up

Perhaps they know each other from a time when Marius used his appearance of wealth to help out one of his ABC friends? Not sure. I would love to plot this up though!

I know Marius does eventually develop a grudging respect for Javert so yes definitely would be interesting. I can see Marius having to rescue Grantaire from the cells etc

I Think a meeting between Maxi and Javert would be rather fun. Maxi would be very respectful towards Javert due to how he is just doing his job but is not sure about how he goes about it. Maybe they could meet when Maxi is being his normal aristocratic self, maybe a crime goes on around where he is at the time or Maxi is busy helping out the poor. Not sure how Javert would feel about that plus Maxi being 15

There is also maybe Javert catching him when hes playing at being poor usually to help in his adventuring of course and hes an informant for the League of The Pimpernel so there is that. If Javert's any good at seeing through disguises maybe he recognizes him a Little. Oh and Maxi is very good at getting into trouble :)

Both of these options seem a rather fun idea, and I'm sure Javert would have many problems trying to decide on the proper course of action with your character

Ah problems Javert seems to have many of them :) Maxi would certainly give him many given that he would rather not be caught by someone who could recognize him. I Think maybe though if hey were to meet it would be best in the aristocratic option with him playing poor sometime after that though the second option we might be able to get more out of it what do you think would be the better option ?
